Sprehe Information Management Associates, founded in 1991, provides consulting services in enterprise information content management (ECM) to government agencies and private firms. SIMA specializes in ECM, electronic records management (ERM), federal information policy, and strategic planning for enterprise information management.
The firm's president is J. Timothy Sprehe, Ph.D. Dr. Sprehe is uniquely qualified in the ECM and ERM field. He chaired the AIIM International Standards Committee that produced ANSI/AIIM/ARMA TR48-2006, Revised Framework for the Integration of Electronic Document Management Systems and Electronic Records Management Systems and was principal author of the report. Prior to 1991, he was for ten years an information policy spokesman at the Office of Management and Budget, where he authored the original OMB Circular No. A-130, Management of Federal Information Resources, the government-wide policy directive on the management of information and information technology. He is currently a member of the AIIM International Standards Board as well as a member of its Interoperable Enterprise Content Management Standards Committee. From 1996 to 2006, Dr. Sprehe co-presented an annual two-day conference on federal electronic records management.From his many articles and speeches, Dr. Sprehe is known nationally as an intellectual leader on federal information policy issues. He has written over 150 columns for Federal Computer Week.
